3" Horween Shell Cordovan Strop
Product Details

Why Shell Cordovan? Well, quite frankly, it was specifically made for straight razor stropping. Unlike other leathers, shell cordovan is made from a membrane located under the hide of a horse's rump. Two relatively small pieces are collected from each hide. Thus, making shell cordovan much more rare than even equine leather itself. To further elevate its expense, most of the shell cordovan produced is already allocated to the shoe industry. Also, it takes approximately 6 months from start to finish for a piece of shell cordovan to be made.

Shell cordovan has a unique grain structure. Unlike other leathers, it is extremely dense and has no open pores. So, shell cordovan is exceptionally smooth and glass-like.

Why Horween? Horween has been the U.S.A.'s top producer of shell cordovan since 1905. They are world renound for producing the best shell cordovan available. Also, it just made sense to pair their football leather with their shell cordovan.

These strops are EXTREMELY expensive to produce. A typical side of calf leather will yield about 10 very clean, defect-free strop blanks. However, for about the same price as a typical side of calf hide, we can purchase ONE shell that yields ONE strop! This, coupled with the labor to make these strops puts them in the high-end range (as far as strops go). So, needless to say, these strops are NOT for beginners. They are made and marketed to experts.

We make these strops per order. So, please allow 3-4 weeks. We take our time making them and want to make sure your strop is as close to perfection as we can make it.

SPECIFICATIONS:
Stropping Length: 20" between tops and handles
Width: 3"

As mentioned above, this strop is intended for EXPERTS. As such, you should know that, if you nick or cut your strop, that's on you. We DO NOT warrant cut or nicked strops. Leather doesn't cut itself. So, if there's a cut or nick in your strop, you did it! We warrant these strops against defects in materials and labor. We do not warrant against damage that you have caused.

Gift Cards are great ideas, they allow you to give a gift to someone and lets them make the purchasing decision for what they truly want. It means they will use that item because it’s what they desired.

Buy a gift card for that someone special and let them choose.

INTERNATIONAL ORDER SHIPPING

It is not uncommon for international shipments to take 4 months or longer to be delivered (if at all)! If you live outside of the United States and are placing an order, please consider both the reliability and speed of your country’s postal service and customs department. It is for this reason that we have adopted the following policy:

As with eBay, Etsy, Amazon, and all other major online retailers, we consider your order “delivered” once it has reached the destination country. We have no control over what happens to your order once it is in the hands of either your government or your postal service. We are unable to contact either of them to get updates on delivery or to encourage them to move any faster. YOU, however, can!

If you place an order with us that is going to a foreign country, again, consider the speed, effeciency, and honesty of your own government and postal carriers. We WILL NOT issue refunds or ship a replacement order for orders that reach the destination country. THEY ARE CONSIDERED “DELIVERED” ONCE THEY REACH YOUR COUNTRY.
